Hey pals!!!

So the journey here was not too bad. Got into big ol London Town this morning at 5am. Had to find my way from Gatwick to Russel Square which is just a skip and a hop and 3 separate train rides. No worries the trains were the easy part. Walking around London alone for most of the day with hardly any phone service meant I walked a total of 29,826 steps today!!! Lots of circling blocks to find specific locations and being completely shook by the fact that I somehow forgot that they drive on the wrong side here!?! While waiting for my travel buddy Hannah to arrive I decided to channel the art freak I am and spend 4 hours in the British Museum. It’s larger than Britain itself and I listened to music and wandered around alone. There was nobody there to listen to me pretend to know everything about art history but I definitely enjoyed myself. Hannah finally arrived and she had to rescue me from a Starbucks because I couldn’t find her train station and my phone was about to die and I started feeling a bit uneasy so Starbucks was my #SafeSpace. We saw everything. I can’t even tell you the names of all the places we saw but don’t worry we covered everything. London gives me the vibe that people said “Hey wouldn’t it be cool if we took London....and put it over there” *pointing at america* and now there’s Boston. Maybe I’m tired but throughout the day I kept forgetting I was in a foreign country and every time I would hear a gaggle of British kids on a field trip or a police squad chatting over a cuppa tea I would giggle because I high key feel like I’m on a movie or TV show set. To top off a great long first day of the adventure we saw 42nd St on the West End and it blew away my expectations. West End culture is shockingly different than Broadway culture and I could write an entire Ted Talk on it however I digress. Staying in a hostel which is easy and cheap and kinda noisy. It’s like camp. I will leave you today with this: There’s something comforting knowing you’re somewhere where nobody knows you. It’s the moment of fresh start I’ve never gotten and that means big things are happening. I watched Eat Pray Love on the plane ride and I’m ready for my Julia Roberts big life changing adventure.

Stay Tuned

Xoxo Gossip Allie
