Goodbye England, Hello Amsterdam!

As I leave Manchester, England I do my best to reflect on what I’ve experienced in efforts to be more mindful while I travel. Not only was I welcomed into the CUTEST English home (Thanks Rudolph family) but I felt totally welcomed into the Manchester community. It’s extremely evident that since the attack last year at the Arianna Grande concert that Manchester has become a supportive and art filled city. Some parts are beautifully stuck in the early 90s grunge era, while others exude a small town neighborhood feeling. As Hannah has explained to me, Manchester used to be split by the two football clubs that reside in Manchester. Since the attacks, the city has been united and the pride that the residents have for their city is unmatched. On Saturday night, we went out into the city center with a wonderful group and every bar’s bouncer chuckled at my Florida ID. I was no doubt one of the only Americans out on Saturday night and I was LIVING. Some attractive English men thought I was from California so you can say that the whole experience was very positive. I’m sad to be leaving England but we have so many exciting things coming up in the next week. Considering I haven’t been to Disney World at home since 6th grade, we impulse bought Euro Disney tickets for Friday! Couldn’t be more hyped to see the worlds favorite mouse, but in French. I’m so excited to share my experiences in Amsterdam with you all, so check back later this week for some more updates.
Cheers,
